NEWSFLASH August 2020
A successful outcome at the MSDC planning meeting, with the Planning Committee refusing permission for the Tavistock site, turning down the application by a majority vote of 7 – 2. It recognised that the urban design of these blocks of flats was totally inappropriate in a village setting.
WALKS BOOKLET
While our usual outlets, Such as Village Day and the LPS Talks programme, are out of action, we are running a makeshift Click and Collect service.
The Walks booklet and ‘Lindfield’ by Jane Reid (recently updated and illustrated by the author) are available at 80 Noaks Ark Lane, Lindfield, RH16 2LT. The house is the first of four white houses facing the tree island, which is about half way down NAL coming from the Lewes Road. Please note the following:
copy/copies can be collected from the porch inside the black door.
you need to advise catherinecross@tiscali.co.uk when you plan to collect, which publications you want and how many copies, so that the copy/copies can be left in the porch and the outer door unlocked.
there will be a container for you to leave your £1 per copy for Walks and £4 for ‘Lindfield’ in cash
If this method is difficult for you, I may be able to deliver by arrangement, in the Lindfield area. Please contact me.
Both publications are also available from The Gables, 66 Sunte Avenue (opposite The Witch Inn) but please phone in advance (01444 453608) to ensure that someone is available to answer the door.
Please consider joining the Lindfield Preservation Society if you are not already a member. We are over 600 members who support the Society’s objective of promoting and encouraging Lindfield’s preservation and sympathetic development. Membership is only £5 per year for individuals and £10 for households. Details of How to Join are on the website.
